Adele is pregnant with her first child, she announced Friday on her website. The dad-to-be is her beau Simon Konecki.
"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," the 23-year-old Grammy winner wrote. "I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."
Adele (seen here at age 4) grew up in Tottenham, a north London neighborhood, raised by a single mom who got pregnant with her at 18. (To this day, Adele considers her mother to be her closest friend, and one of her biggest early influences). "I just want to say, Mum, your girl did good!" the "Someone Like You" singer told the 2012 Grammys audience during her tearful acceptance speech.
